Effects of oral administration and herbal drug - acupuncture with Injinhotang on serum levels of GOT , GPT , LDH , ALP and total bililubin in damaged rat Liver induced by the Carbon Tetrachloride ( CCl4 )

Abstract
This study was undertaken to compare effects of oral Administration and herbal drug-acupuncture with Injinhotang in damaged rat liver induced by the CCl©þ. The serum levels of GOT, GPT, LDH, ALP and total bililubin were measured at 1, 3, 5 and 7 days respectively after treatment of oral administration and herbal drug-acupuncture at the bilateral loci corresponding to Kansu(BL18).
The results were summarized as follows.
1. There was a significant decrease of serum GOT levels at 3 days after Treatment of oral and 1, 3 days after that of herbal drug-acupuncture, as compared to control group. Herbal drug-acupuncture group tended to be decreased in comparison to oral administrated group. But it was seen no significance.
2. A significant decrease of serum GPT levels was observed at 1, 3, 7 days in herbal drug-acupuncture group and oral administrated group, as comapred to control group. Herbal drug-acupuncture group tended to be decreased in comparison to oral administrated group. But it was seen no significance.
3. A significant decrease of serum LDH levels was observed at 1, 5, 7 days in herbal drug-acupuncture group and oral administrated group, as compared to control group. Herbal drug-acupuncture group was significantly decreased at the 5 days in comparison to oral administrated group.
4. Serum ALP levels showed no significance in oral administrated group and significance of decrease in herbal drug-acupuncture group at 1, 5, 7 days after treatment, as compared to control group. Herbal drug-acupuncture group tended to be decreased in comparison to oral administrated group. But it was seen no significance.
5. Serum total bilirubin levels showed significant decrease at 3 days in oral administrated group and at 1, 3 days in herbal drug-acupuncture group, as compared to control group. Herbal drug-acupuncture group tended to be decreased in comparison to oral administrated group. But it was seen no significance.
